PDA Installation

Downloading 101

Basic How-to's

If you are new to PDA's, you will find that downloading software is by far the best way to equip your PDA. While boxed software is available in stores, there is no comparison the quantity and variety available to you on-line... not to mention the added benefit of trying the software before you buy it. IMHO, if a software developer isn't willing to let you try out the program, I would cross that software off my shopping list. Grandpa called it "Buying a pig in a poke", although I have no idea what a poke is... Anyway, I think that all of us have been stuck with software that didn't work to our expectations, and we Geeks at Geek-to-Go.com don't think that's fair. As Leo Tolstoy said "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.", so in the spirit of changing, we offer all of our software on a trial basis. We know it's good stuff, and after trying it, we think you will agree and purchase our software.

There are many, many sites for downloading software on the internet, with several that specialize in PDA software. The leading PDA software sites (in no particular order) are:

  • Downloads.com
  • Handango
  • Palmgear
  • Pocketgear
  • Share-it

Geek-to-Go.com software is available for download and purchase on all those sites, as well as directly from here on our own site. To download, just click on the download button for the desired product, then click the link for the download file format you prefer. Most Windows user should select the EXE download while Mac and Linux user should select the ZIP format. Once you click on the link, the download should automatically begin.

Once the download has completed, you either open the EXE file on your desktop machine to install the software to your PDA, or use an unzip utility to open the zip file and manually install the program to your PDA. More complete installation instructions are available through the tech support link.
